Putting it out there! It being my Comic...

Those of you who have been reading my sporadic blog posts will likely be aware that I started work on my own Graphic Novel/Comic, whichever term you prefer. It's a story I've had in the back of my head that I've finally decided to get out on paper. Or screen more to the point!

My last blog post about the comic consisted of me pondering what I ultimately wanted to do with it. One option being serialising it a few pages at a time on the webcomic site/app Tapas (formerly known as Taptastic.) Well I've done it, I actually started the serialisation back in November.

"Why only tell us now?" I hear you ask (tumbleweed.)

Well to be honest, I found I was perfectly happy sharing it with complete strangers who are faceless people on the Internet, but less comfortable letting people I actually know see it. I mean, do I want people to see this side of me, it being a science fiction story of Sex, Violence and Intrigue (eat your heart out Game of Thrones) it does have a considerable amount of "mature" content. Although I don't think anymore than a graphic novel series like Brian K Vaughan's "Saga," (a series which played a large part in inspiring me to finally make a start on my own comic.)

So a little self conscious about fully putting it out there, but maybe that's just my own anxiety exaggerating everything as anxiety does.

So here's the link to my comic Flux. Although it's a general link, it may not take you to page one, a little issue with the site I've found. I'll also reiterate; mature content, NSFW.

Tapas has the potential to pay out to creators based on traffic and comic popularity. This mainly works on a subscriber basis and readers rewarding creators with "Ink" which eventually translates to a cash value. I have to hit 25 subs before I'm eligible for "Ink" so if anyone would like to help me out please set up an account on Tapas and subscribe, it would be super appreciated.

Other things in the pipeline, I am also working on an official website for Flux and any other writings or comics I may start in the future. Once a chapter has completed its serialisation on Tapas I will add it to the official site in a single issue in a more conventional comic book format, rather than the "on the go" mobile device friendly format of Tapas.

Another note on the comic, the artwork of the first chapter is a little erratic and "cartoonish" as I was still working on my style etc, and still am. Now that I'm starting on chapter two, I can see immediately that my artwork and ability with the tablet has improved cosiderably. I'm changing things up for chapter two to try new things and to try and make my method more efficient, so as to increase the rate I produce pages and keep up with the weekly publishing schedule. So when chapter two starts appearing you will see a small change in style, less "cartoonish" and improved artwork.

Thank you for taking time to read it, I hope you enjoy it.
